This illustration is part of the "The Great Penguin War" project and depicts soldiers, out of regular ammunition, fighting with improvised weapons. This is one of the key scenes in the book, showcasing the crucial moment when the soldiers' desperate creativity leads to a bizarre and ironic twist in the war. In fact, as the battle rages on, one of the soldiers spots a penguin, ready to turn it into the first "penguin-arrow" in history.

"The Great Penguin War" project tells a surreal and gripping story of a worldwide war where humans start using penguins as weapons. The narrative explores themes of naivety and absurdity, highlighting the unexpected consequences of human actions.

The project is created in collaboration with writer Matilde Tacchini and agent Davide Calì. [2020]
