#MerMay is a drawing challenge created on Instagram by Tom Bancroft. It invites people to post a new mermaid drawing every day in May. This is my entry of the 24th of May: Mermaid on Sale! The unfortunate creature was caught and put on sale at the fish market by an unscrupulous fishmonger. This little mermaid popped into my mind while working on the theme of endangered animals and reflecting on the fact that unsustainable industrial fishing is endangering countless species. [2018]
